Company Info

Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort, Port Douglas is a luxury beachfront resort operated under the Marriott International portfolio. Located between the Coral Sea and the Daintree Rainforest in tropical Far North Queensland, the resort offers accommodation, restaurants, bars, pools, leisure facilities, conference spaces and wedding venues. It caters to leisure travellers, destination weddings, corporate groups and special events. As part of Marriott International, the property benefits from global hospitality standards, structured training, career development opportunities and employee travel benefits. The resort’s service culture focuses on personalised guest experiences, teamwork, professionalism and responsible tourism. Its location makes it an attractive workplace for people interested in resort operations, events, tourism and international hospitality, although the seasonal nature of tourism can create particularly busy periods throughout the year.

Destination Guide

Australia is a large island nation with opportunities across tourism, hotels, events, restaurants, construction, healthcare, technology and agriculture. Port Douglas offers a relaxed tropical lifestyle, outdoor activities, beaches, reef and rainforest access, but housing and transport can be more limited and expensive than in major cities. Australian workplace culture generally values punctuality, clear communication, safety, teamwork and a practical approach. International applicants usually need an appropriate visa, such as a Working Holiday visa, employer-sponsored visa or another skilled migration pathway; eligibility depends on nationality, occupation, age and qualifications. Before relocating, arrange valid work rights, accommodation, health insurance, tax registration and funds for initial living costs. Cairns is the nearest major regional centre and airport, while Port Douglas is approximately one hour away by road. Seasonal hospitality work may offer useful entry opportunities, but applicants should confirm visa conditions and employer sponsorship directly.
