Destination Guide

Malaysia offers opportunities in hospitality, tourism, retail, technology, manufacturing, education and healthcare. For this role, Kuching on the island of Borneo provides a relaxed lifestyle, relatively lower living costs than Kuala Lumpur, rich Sarawak culture, rainforest attractions and easy access to islands and coastal destinations. Malaysia is culturally diverse, with Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous communities, and English is widely used in hotels and business. Kuching has good food, shopping, healthcare and international connections, while public transport is more limited than in larger cities, so a car can be useful. Foreign nationals normally require an employer-sponsored employment pass, and the company must meet immigration requirements before work begins. Applicants should confirm visa eligibility, contract terms, housing, insurance and relocation support. Malaysia’s tropical climate is warm and humid year-round, with heavier rain during monsoon periods.
