Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island, but it offers strong opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, aviation, retail, construction, healthcare, technology, and finance. Dubai and Abu Dhabi are the main employment centres, with resorts and attractions providing many entry-level and experienced hospitality roles. UAE culture combines Islamic traditions, Emirati heritage, and a highly international population. Respectful dress and behaviour, particularly in public and religious places, are important. Lifestyle can be vibrant and convenient, with beaches, shopping malls, desert activities, and extensive dining options, although summer heat is intense. Most expatriate employees require employer-sponsored residence and work visas; working legally without the correct permit is prohibited. Employers commonly arrange visa processing and may provide accommodation, transport, meals, insurance, and annual leave. Before relocating, confirm the written contract, salary, benefits, probation terms, accommodation, and who pays recruitment or visa costs.
