Job Description

The Shift Technician is responsible for maintaining the hotel’s building systems, equipment, guest rooms, and public areas during an assigned shift. Requirements typically include a technical diploma or vocational qualification in electrical, mechanical, HVAC, or a related trade, along with practical hotel or facilities-maintenance experience. The candidate should be able to troubleshoot faults, carry out preventive maintenance, respond quickly to guest and operational requests, and complete maintenance records accurately. Knowledge of safety procedures, basic building systems, and local regulations is expected. The role requires flexibility for rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays, as well as good teamwork, communication, and a service-focused attitude.
