Destination Guide

Fiji offers hospitality, tourism, marine recreation, construction, education, healthcare, and business opportunities, with many resort jobs concentrated around Nadi, Denarau, Coral Coast, and Suva. Fijian culture values respect, community, family, and welcoming visitors. English is widely used, while iTaukei and Fiji Hindi are also common. Island life is relaxed and outdoors-focused, with beaches, diving, boating, village visits, hiking, and warm weather, although imported goods can be expensive and transport outside main areas may be limited. Employees should budget for tropical conditions and occasional cyclone disruption. Foreign workers normally need an employer-supported work permit before starting employment; requirements vary by nationality and role. Relocating staff should confirm accommodation, meals, medical cover, flights, taxes, and permit responsibilities in the written contract. Nadi is the main international gateway, and Fiji Marriott Resort Momi Bay is approximately 45 minutes from Nadi International Airport.
