Destination Guide

Indonesia is an archipelago with varied opportunities across Java, Bali, Sumatra, Sulawesi, and other islands. Bekasi is on Java, close to Jakarta, and offers strong employment prospects in hotels, restaurants, manufacturing, retail, and services. Java has busy urban living, extensive public transport, diverse food, and relatively affordable housing outside central Jakarta. Indonesian culture values hospitality, family, community, and respect for religious traditions; workplaces are generally collaborative and multicultural. Bali provides more tourism jobs and a relaxed lifestyle, while other islands offer quieter surroundings and nature-focused living. Foreign employees normally need employer sponsorship and the appropriate work and residence permits before starting employment; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Relocating candidates should budget for housing deposits, transport, health insurance, document processing, and daily expenses. Learning basic Indonesian will make work and everyday communication easier.
