Destination Guide

Bali is Indonesia’s best-known tourism island, with strong employment opportunities in hotels, restaurants, events, wellness, retail, transport and travel services. Nusa Dua is a polished resort district, while areas such as Ubud, Seminyak and Canggu offer different lifestyles, from cultural and quieter surroundings to busy international communities. Balinese culture is strongly influenced by Hindu traditions, temple ceremonies and community life; respectful dress and behaviour are important. The climate is tropical, with a wet and dry season, and living costs vary considerably by area. Foreign nationals must have an Indonesian employer arrange the appropriate work authorisation, usually including a work permit process and KITAS; tourist or business visas do not allow employment. Candidates should confirm sponsorship, accommodation, insurance, relocation costs and contract terms before accepting an offer.
