The Night Senior Carer supports residents throughout overnight shifts, helping with personal care, mobility, nutrition, continence, comfort and emotional wellbeing. The role includes supervising care staff, completing care records, administering or supporting medication where authorised, responding to emergencies, and communicating important updates to nurses, managers and families. Applicants are generally expected to have care experience, strong knowledge of person-centred care, good communication skills and the ability to work calmly and responsibly at night. An NVQ or QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care is commonly preferred, although relevant experience may be considered.
