Destination Guide

The UAE is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi offering the broadest opportunities in banking, finance, technology, logistics, healthcare, tourism, and professional services. The country has a modern, highly international lifestyle, excellent infrastructure, diverse restaurants, shopping, beaches, and desert activities. Arabic is the official language, while English is widely used in business. Most expatriates live in rented apartments and should budget carefully for housing, schooling, transport, and health insurance. Employment generally requires a UAE work permit and residence visa sponsored by the employer; medical checks and document attestation may be required. Candidates should confirm visa sponsorship, benefits, probation terms, and relocation support before moving. The climate is hot for much of the year, while winters are pleasant. Local laws and cultural customs should be respected, particularly regarding public conduct and religious observances.
