Job Description

This role sells anime and other video content to domestic Japanese streaming platforms as part of Rakuten’s IP Content Business. Candidates are expected to have experience in content sales, licensing, media, entertainment, or business development, with an understanding of Japan’s streaming market and anime industry. Strong communication, negotiation, relationship-building, and commercial skills are important. The successful candidate will identify potential buyers, negotiate licensing and distribution terms, coordinate with internal production and legal teams, and help maximize the value of Rakuten’s intellectual property. Japanese fluency is likely essential, while experience with anime, digital platforms, or rights management would be highly advantageous.
