Senior Software Development Engineer (Backend), Advertisement Delivery Platform - Global Ad Technology Supervisory Department (GATD)

Job Description

This role involves designing, developing, and operating backend services for Rakuten’s global advertisement delivery platform. Candidates are expected to have strong experience with backend software development, distributed systems, APIs, databases, cloud or large-scale production environments, and programming languages such as Java, Go, or similar. Experience with system design, performance optimization, testing, monitoring, and reliable service operations is valuable. The successful candidate should be comfortable working in an international, cross-functional team, communicating clearly in English and/or Japanese, taking ownership of technical decisions, and improving advertising technology used at significant scale.
