Destination Guide

Japan offers opportunities in technology, telecommunications, software, finance, manufacturing, tourism, education, healthcare, and international business. Tokyo provides the widest range of jobs and the highest salaries, while Osaka, Nagoya, Fukuoka, and Sapporo may offer lower living costs and strong regional markets. Japanese workplaces value punctuality, preparation, teamwork, respect, and careful communication, although global companies may be more informal and English-friendly. Daily life is safe, efficient, and convenient, with excellent public transport, reliable services, and extensive cultural activities. Rent and commuting costs can be high in central Tokyo. Foreign professionals generally need an appropriate work visa, commonly an Engineer/Specialist in Humanities/International Services visa, supported by an employer. Relocation usually involves securing sponsorship, a residence card, housing, health insurance, tax registration, and a local bank account.
