Destination Guide

Japan offers strong opportunities in technology, data analytics, telecommunications, finance, engineering, tourism, and international business, especially in Tokyo, Osaka, and Fukuoka. Workplaces often value punctuality, teamwork, attention to detail, and respect for seniority, although global companies may have more flexible cultures. Life in Japan is safe, efficient, and convenient, with excellent public transport, varied food, modern cities, and easy access to mountains, beaches, and historic towns. Tokyo has many career opportunities but higher housing costs; regional cities can offer a calmer and more affordable lifestyle. Foreign employees generally need a work visa sponsored by their employer, commonly the Engineer/Specialist in Humanities/International Services visa. Applicants should prepare academic and employment documents, arrange housing, register locally after arrival, and consider Japanese-language study for daily life and broader career options.
