Job Description

The Chief Steward leads the kitchen stewarding team and ensures the cleanliness, sanitation, and smooth operation of kitchens, restaurants, storage areas, and equipment. Requirements typically include several years of experience in hotel or restaurant stewarding, previous supervisory experience, knowledge of hygiene and food-safety standards, and the ability to manage cleaning schedules, supplies, waste handling, and equipment maintenance. The successful candidate should be organized, physically fit, dependable, hands-on, and comfortable working shifts, weekends, and public holidays. Strong communication, team leadership, cost awareness, and the ability to train staff are also expected.
