Destination Guide

The Philippines offers hospitality, tourism, retail, outsourcing, education, healthcare, and marine-related job opportunities, with major employment hubs in Manila, Cebu, Boracay, Palawan, and Bohol. Panglao is a relaxed island destination known for beaches, diving, island tours, seafood, and a growing resort economy. Life is generally warm, social, and community-oriented, with Filipino, English, and regional languages widely used. Costs are usually lower than in Manila, although beachfront areas can be more expensive. New residents should expect tropical weather, seasonal rains, traffic, and occasional service interruptions. Filipino citizens can relocate freely for work. Foreign nationals must secure an appropriate work arrangement, commonly an Alien Employment Permit and a 9(g) working visa sponsored or supported by the employer; working on a tourist entry is not permitted. Confirm requirements with the employer and Philippine immigration authorities before traveling.
