Destination Guide

Qatar is a modern peninsula rather than an island, with Doha as its main employment and lifestyle centre. Hospitality, construction, engineering, aviation, retail, healthcare and technology offer regular job opportunities, while luxury hotels provide multinational workplaces. The culture is welcoming but conservative: modest clothing is recommended, public behaviour should be respectful, and local customs and Islamic traditions should be observed. Life is convenient and generally safe, with modern malls, restaurants, beaches, museums and desert activities. Summers are extremely hot, so indoor facilities and air-conditioned transport are important. Employers commonly sponsor work visas and residence permits; employees should not work before the correct authorization is issued. Confirm the contract, salary, accommodation, medical insurance, transport and annual leave before relocating. Doha living costs can be high, but employer-provided housing and meals can significantly reduce expenses. Bring certified qualifications and allow time for medical checks, document attestation and onboarding.
