Destination Guide

Malaysia offers opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, retail, technology, finance, healthcare, and education, particularly in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor, Sabah, and Sarawak. The country combines Malay, Chinese, Indian, and indigenous cultures, with varied food, festivals, languages, and religious traditions. Lifestyle is generally affordable compared with many major international cities, although Kuala Lumpur housing and transport costs vary by area. Popular island destinations include Langkawi, Penang, Perhentian, Redang, Tioman, and islands around Sabah. Foreign nationals normally need an employer-sponsored work permit before starting employment; requirements depend on nationality, role, salary, and duration. A short temporary assignment may require a suitable temporary employment or professional pass rather than a tourist entry. Candidates should confirm visa eligibility, accommodation, insurance, tax, and contract terms with the employer before relocating.
