Destination Guide

Australia offers strong opportunities in hotels, tourism, events, restaurants, corporate sales and business development, particularly in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and resort destinations. Workplace culture is generally direct, collaborative and relatively informal, with emphasis on professionalism, customer service, inclusion and work-life balance. Sydney provides excellent dining, beaches, arts, sport and public transport, although housing and living costs are high. Most international workers need a visa, such as an employer-sponsored Skills in Demand visa, a temporary graduate visa or an eligible working holiday visa; requirements depend on nationality, age, occupation and sponsorship. Applicants should verify current rules through the Australian Department of Home Affairs. Relocating usually involves securing a job offer, arranging health insurance, obtaining tax and banking documents, and budgeting for rental bonds and initial accommodation. Sydney's climate is mild, but summer heat and busy tourism periods should be considered.
