Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is a modern Gulf destination rather than a single island, with Dubai offering beaches, resorts, shopping, nightlife and easy access to desert and cultural attractions. Hospitality, tourism, aviation, retail, food service, construction, healthcare and technology provide regular employment opportunities, especially in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The culture is multicultural but conservative in public settings; modest dress, courtesy and respect for Islamic customs are important. Life is convenient and generally safe, although summer temperatures are extremely hot and living costs can be high. Most foreign workers need employer-sponsored residence and work visas; employers commonly arrange medical checks, Emirates ID processing and permits after hiring. Before relocating, confirm accommodation, transport, meals, insurance, working hours and contract terms. Dubai has excellent public transport, while resort locations may provide staff buses and shared accommodation.
