Destination Guide

Australia is a large island continent with opportunities in hospitality, tourism, events, retail, healthcare, technology, construction and professional services. Major hotel markets include Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Cairns and the Gold Coast. The culture is generally informal, multicultural and outdoor-oriented, with strong emphasis on workplace safety, punctuality and work-life balance. Lifestyle costs vary considerably; Sydney and Melbourne are expensive, while regional areas may offer lower rents and tourism-based work. Most overseas workers need a visa, such as an employer-sponsored Skills in Demand visa, Working Holiday visa or other eligible skilled or graduate pathway. Requirements depend on nationality, occupation, age, qualifications and sponsorship. Candidates should check the Australian Department of Home Affairs before accepting an offer. Relocation planning should include accommodation, health insurance, tax file registration, banking and superannuation arrangements.
