Company Info

Shangri-La Group is a leading luxury hospitality company founded in Asia and known for its hotels, resorts, residences, and related businesses worldwide. Its properties are recognised for warm Asian hospitality, high service standards, distinctive locations, and comprehensive guest facilities. In the Philippines, Shangri-La operates well-known urban and resort properties, including hotels in Manila, Cebu, and Boracay. The company employs people across front office, food and beverage, housekeeping, events, wellness, engineering, and corporate functions. Shangri-La generally promotes structured training, international service standards, internal career development, and teamwork. Employees may receive benefits such as service charge, meals, uniforms, medical coverage, and staff rates, although packages differ by property and employment level. Duty Managers support the hotel's operational leadership and play an important role in maintaining guest satisfaction and service consistency.

Destination Guide

The Philippines offers hospitality opportunities in Manila, Cebu, Boracay, Palawan, Bohol, and other tourism destinations, with demand for managers, front-office staff, chefs, and guest-service professionals. Filipino culture is welcoming, family-oriented, and strongly influenced by community, faith, and English-language communication. Island life can be relaxed and scenic, but transport, healthcare, internet, and living costs vary considerably between locations. Manila provides broader career options and higher urban costs, while resort islands offer a slower lifestyle and seasonal business patterns. Foreign applicants normally need an employer-sponsored work permit and appropriate visa, commonly an Alien Employment Permit followed by a work visa; requirements can change, so confirmation with the employer and Philippine authorities is essential. Relocating candidates should check accommodation, insurance, tax, contract terms, airport access, and typhoon exposure before accepting an offer.
