In the Philippines, Shangri-La manages prominent resorts and city hotels, including properties in Cebu, Boracay and Manila. Employees typically work in an international environment with structured service standards, training opportunities and access to hospitality career development. Destination Guide

The Philippines offers strong opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, tourism, engineering and marine recreation, particularly in Cebu, Boracay, Palawan, Manila and other major destinations. Hospitality work is shaped by Filipino warmth, teamwork, respect for seniority and a service-oriented culture. Island living can be rewarding, with beaches, diving, outdoor activities and a relaxed social lifestyle, although transport, healthcare access and supply availability may be less convenient outside cities. Salaries are usually paid in Philippine pesos, and resort roles may include meals, accommodation, service charge, insurance or travel assistance. Foreign nationals generally need an employer-sponsored work permit and appropriate visa, commonly an Alien Employment Permit together with a 9(g) work visa; requirements can change, so confirmation with the employer and Philippine authorities is essential. Relocating staff should budget for deposits, flights, local transport and documentation, and research housing, weather, internet access and emergency services before moving.
