Job Description

The Events Manager is responsible for planning, selling, coordinating and delivering meetings, conferences, weddings and other events at Shangri-La. Requirements typically include a degree or diploma in hospitality, tourism, business or a related field, together with several years of experience in hotel events, catering or banqueting. Strong knowledge of event operations, budgeting, contracts and client relationship management is expected. The successful candidate should be organized, commercially aware and confident when dealing with corporate and leisure clients. Excellent communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills are essential, as is the ability to coordinate multiple departments, manage deadlines and maintain Shangri-La’s service standards. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays is normally required.
