Destination Guide

Indonesia is an archipelago with varied opportunities in luxury hotels, restaurants, tourism, aviation, retail, and digital businesses. Major hospitality markets include Bali, Jakarta, Batam, Lombok, and destinations such as Java and Sumatra. Bali offers an international lifestyle, beaches, outdoor activities, and a large expatriate community, while Jakarta provides stronger corporate opportunities, urban services, and transport links. Indonesian culture values hospitality, family, community, and religious diversity; modest and respectful behavior is important. Living costs vary considerably, with resort areas often more expensive than smaller cities. Foreign employees normally need employer sponsorship and the appropriate work and stay permits before starting employment; visa rules should be confirmed with the company and Indonesian immigration authorities. Relocation packages may include accommodation, meals, transport, insurance, or flights, but these are property-specific. Learning basic Indonesian is useful for daily life and workplace integration.
