Destination Guide

Hong Kong is a dynamic coastal city with strong opportunities in luxury hotels, restaurants, catering, retail, finance and tourism. Its culture blends Cantonese traditions, international influences, festivals, temples and a fast-paced professional lifestyle. Residents enjoy excellent public transport, diverse food, hiking trails, beaches and vibrant nightlife, although housing and everyday costs can be high. Foreign employees generally need an approved employment visa before starting work; the employer normally sponsors the application and must demonstrate that the role is genuine and the applicant suitably qualified. A valid passport, signed contract and supporting qualifications are commonly required. Relocating staff should budget carefully for rent, deposits, transport and insurance, and confirm whether accommodation, meals and medical benefits are included. English is widely used in hotels, while Cantonese is valuable for daily life and guest interaction.
