Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact island city-state with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, finance, technology, healthcare, logistics, and retail. The culture is multicultural, with English widely used alongside Mandarin, Malay, and Tamil. Lifestyle is convenient and safe, supported by excellent public transport, diverse food, shopping, parks, and efficient public services. Rental and daily living costs can be high, particularly near central areas, so accommodation and transport should be budgeted carefully. Foreign employees generally need an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an Employment Pass, S Pass, or Work Permit, depending on qualifications, salary, and occupation. Employers usually guide successful applicants through the application process. New arrivals should arrange suitable accommodation, healthcare coverage, banking access, and tax registration, and should check current requirements with Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower.
