Destination Guide

Australia offers opportunities in banking, finance, technology, healthcare, construction, education, logistics, hospitality and professional services. Brisbane has a warm climate, growing employment market and generally lower housing costs than Sydney or Melbourne, although rents have increased. Australian workplaces are usually informal, diverse and collaborative, with emphasis on punctuality, safety, clear communication and work-life balance. Lifestyle choices range from beaches and outdoor activities to restaurants, sport and cultural events. International applicants normally need a visa with work rights; options may include employer-sponsored visas, skilled migration, graduate visas or working-holiday visas, depending on age, occupation, qualifications and eligibility. Before relocating, check the Department of Home Affairs requirements, understand tax and superannuation, arrange health insurance where necessary, and budget for rent, transport and initial living costs. Brisbane’s public transport network includes trains, buses and ferries, and many suburbs offer convenient access to the city.
