Destination Guide

Australia offers opportunities in banking, customer service, technology, healthcare, construction, education, trades, logistics and professional services. Adelaide and Perth can provide a lower cost of living than Sydney or Melbourne, although housing costs vary significantly by suburb. Australian workplace culture is generally professional, inclusive and direct, with emphasis on punctuality, safety, teamwork and work-life balance. Lifestyle options include beaches, national parks, sport, multicultural food and outdoor activities; Australia is geographically large, so travel between cities can be expensive. Skilled migrants may need an employer-sponsored visa, skilled visa or another eligible work-rights pathway. Working holiday visas suit eligible young applicants but have conditions. Before relocating, check the Department of Home Affairs website, confirm qualifications and work rights, budget for rent, transport, healthcare and insurance, and arrange tax and banking documentation.
