Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly connected island city with strong opportunities in banking, technology, healthcare, logistics, professional services and regional headquarters functions. English is widely used at work, while Mandarin, Malay and Tamil are also official languages. The culture is multicultural, efficient and generally respectful of hierarchy, punctuality and performance. Public transport is excellent, and neighbourhoods offer diverse food, shopping, parks and entertainment, although housing and schooling can be expensive. Employment Pass eligibility depends on salary, qualifications and employer sponsorship; employers normally submit the application through Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower. Relocating professionals should budget carefully for rent, deposits, healthcare, transport and insurance. Singapore has a tropical climate, reliable infrastructure and a safe urban environment. Foreign employees should confirm visa terms, tax residency, employment conditions and family-dependant arrangements before moving.
