Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly connected island city with strong opportunities in banking, wealth management, technology, healthcare, logistics, professional services and tourism. Its culture is multicultural, combining Chinese, Malay, Indian and international influences, with English widely used at work. The lifestyle is safe and convenient, supported by excellent public transport, diverse food, modern shopping areas and easy access to parks and beaches. Housing can be expensive, especially in central districts, so many newcomers rent rooms or apartments near MRT lines. Foreign professionals usually need employer-sponsored permission, such as an Employment Pass or S Pass, and the employer normally manages the application. Before relocating, check current salary thresholds, eligibility rules and required documents with Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower. Healthcare, utilities and daily expenses should also be included in a relocation budget.
