Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly connected island city with strong opportunities in banking, fintech, technology, healthcare, logistics, professional services, and multinational corporations. English is widely used at work, while the multicultural population reflects Chinese, Malay, Indian, and international influences. The lifestyle is safe, efficient, and convenient, with excellent public transport, modern shopping areas, diverse food, parks, and easy access to Southeast Asia. Housing can be expensive, particularly in central districts, and daily costs are generally higher than in neighbouring countries. Foreign professionals usually need an employer-sponsored Employment Pass, with eligibility depending on salary, qualifications, experience, and current government criteria. Employers normally handle the application process. Relocating employees should arrange housing, healthcare coverage, banking, and tax advice before arrival. Singapore’s warm, humid climate is consistent year-round, with frequent rain and temperatures commonly around 25–32°C.
