Destination Guide

The United Kingdom offers employment opportunities across healthcare, technology, finance, education, manufacturing, retail and public services. Its culture is diverse, generally polite and multicultural, with strong traditions in sport, music, history and community life. Lifestyle varies from busy cities such as London, Manchester and Edinburgh to quieter coastal and rural areas; public transport is widely available, although costs can be high. Healthcare roles may require UK-recognised qualifications, professional registration or employer sponsorship. Non-UK nationals should check whether the role qualifies for a Skilled Worker visa and whether the employer holds a sponsor licence. EU, EEA and Swiss citizens may need immigration permission unless protected by settled or pre-settled status. Relocating normally involves arranging a visa, accommodation, a National Insurance number, banking, tax registration and access to the NHS. Research local rent, transport, weather and living costs before moving.
