Destination Guide

Australia offers opportunities in hotels, resorts, conference venues, restaurants, tourism and events, particularly in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Cairns, the Gold Coast and island destinations such as Hamilton Island. The culture is generally informal, multicultural and focused on work-life balance, although hospitality roles can involve busy seasons, weekends and public holidays. Lifestyle varies from major-city dining and arts to beaches, national parks and outdoor activities. International applicants usually need a suitable visa, such as an employer-sponsored visa, skilled visa or Working Holiday visa where eligible; requirements depend on nationality, age, qualifications and occupation. Before relocating, check Australian immigration rules, salary tax, health insurance, accommodation costs and professional recognition. Employers may assist with sponsorship or relocation, but this should be confirmed in writing. Australia is geographically large, so transport and housing planning are important, especially in resort or island locations.
