Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly connected city-state with opportunities in hospitality, tourism, aviation, retail, technology, finance, healthcare, and education. Its culture combines Chinese, Malay, Indian, and international influences, reflected in its festivals, languages, food, and neighbourhoods. Life is generally safe, efficient, and convenient, with excellent public transport, modern healthcare, shopping, and dining. Housing can be expensive, particularly near central areas, so many workers share apartments or live farther from the city centre. Foreign employees usually need a valid work pass arranged by an employer. Service and hospitality positions may use permits or passes such as the Work Permit, S Pass, or Employment Pass, depending on qualifications, salary, and current regulations. Candidates should confirm eligibility, medical requirements, accommodation costs, and pass conditions before relocating. Singapore’s tropical climate is hot and humid year-round, with frequent rain.
