Destination Guide

Penang Island is one of Malaysia's most attractive locations for hospitality professionals, with opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, tourism, events, retail and travel services. George Town offers a multicultural environment shaped by Malay, Chinese, Indian and British influences, with excellent food, heritage architecture and a lively arts scene. Batu Feringgi provides a quieter resort lifestyle, beaches, water activities and easy access to the city. Living costs are generally lower than in Kuala Lumpur or Singapore, although popular coastal areas can be more expensive. Foreign employees normally need a Malaysian employment pass, sponsored and arranged by the employer before starting work; requirements depend on nationality, salary and qualifications. Candidates should confirm visa support, accommodation, transport, medical coverage and service-charge arrangements. Penang has an international airport, reliable road connections and a welcoming expatriate community.
