Destination Guide

The Philippines offers hospitality opportunities in Manila, Cebu, Boracay, Palawan, Bohol and other resort destinations, with demand for hotel, tourism, restaurant and guest-service professionals. Life is generally sociable and family-oriented, with a relaxed culture, English widely used in workplaces, affordable local food and excellent beaches and outdoor activities. Resort-island living can be peaceful but may involve higher prices, limited transport and fewer services than major cities. Foreign workers normally need an employer-sponsored work permit and appropriate visa, while Filipino applicants need standard employment documentation. Relocating employees should confirm accommodation, medical coverage, transport, taxes and contract terms before accepting an offer. Weather is tropical, with a dry season and a rainy or typhoon season varying by region. New arrivals should research the exact island, cost of living, internet access and emergency facilities.
