Company Info

Shangri-La is a leading luxury hospitality group founded in Hong Kong, operating hotels, resorts, and residences across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America, and other international destinations. Its Philippine properties are known for premium accommodation, dining, wellness facilities, and highly personalized service. Shangri-La places strong emphasis on warm Asian hospitality, guest satisfaction, food quality, sustainability, and employee development. Culinary employees typically work in multicultural teams and may gain experience in international restaurants, large-scale banquets, resort dining, and specialty cuisines. Benefits can vary by property and position but may include service charge, meals, uniforms, medical coverage, training, staff accommodation, and career opportunities within the wider group. Destination Guide

The Philippines offers hospitality opportunities across major islands and resort destinations, including Luzon, Cebu, Boracay, Palawan, Bohol, and Mindanao. Resorts, hotels, restaurants, cruise operations, and catering companies regularly seek chefs, supervisors, and service professionals, particularly in tourism centers. Filipino culture is welcoming, family-oriented, and community-minded, while English is widely used in workplaces and daily life. Island living can offer beaches, outdoor activities, warm weather, and a relaxed lifestyle, although transport, healthcare, and shopping may be more limited outside major cities. Foreign employees generally need an employer-sponsored work permit and an appropriate visa, commonly arranged through the hiring company; requirements can include an Alien Employment Permit and a 9(g) work visa. Candidates should confirm accommodation, insurance, taxes, contract terms, and relocation support before accepting an offer.
