Destination Guide

Malaysia offers varied work and lifestyle options across Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi, Sabah and Sarawak. Hospitality jobs are common in hotels, resorts, restaurants, tourism and events, with larger opportunities in Kuala Lumpur and resort destinations such as Langkawi and islands around Sabah. Malay, Chinese and Indian traditions shape a multicultural society, while English is widely used in hotels. Living costs are moderate compared with many international destinations, though resort islands can be more expensive and transport less convenient. Malaysia’s islands provide beaches, diving, rainforest and a relaxed outdoor lifestyle; Penang is especially known for food and heritage. Foreign employees generally need an employer-sponsored work pass approved before starting employment. Candidates should confirm visa eligibility, accommodation, insurance, salary deductions and transport arrangements with the employer. A valid passport, medical checks and authenticated documents may be required for relocation.
