Job Description

The Duty Manager supports daily hotel operations, supervises front office and guest-service activities, handles complaints, coordinates with housekeeping, food and beverage, engineering and security, and ensures smooth service during each shift. Company Info

Shangri-La is a luxury hospitality group founded in Hong Kong, operating hotels, resorts and residences across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America and other destinations. The brand is known for warm Asian hospitality, high service standards and properties ranging from city hotels to beachfront resorts. In Malaysia, Shangri-La operates well-known hotels and resorts, including properties in Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Kota Kinabalu. Employees typically work in an international environment with structured operating procedures, guest-focused training and opportunities to develop across departments and destinations. Duties, benefits and career progression vary by property, while accommodation, meals, transport or other allowances may be offered for selected resort-based positions.

Destination Guide

Malaysia offers diverse hospitality opportunities in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi, Kota Kinabalu, Malacca and resort islands such as Redang, Perhentian, Tioman and Pangkor. Tourism, hotels, restaurants, diving and events provide jobs for experienced international candidates, although larger resorts may have more seasonal hiring. The culture is multicultural, with Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous influences; English is widely used in hotels, while Malay is useful for daily life. Lifestyle ranges from affordable city living to relaxed beach communities, with warm weather, excellent food and good regional travel. Foreign employees generally need an employment pass sponsored by the employer before starting work; requirements depend on nationality, salary and role, and the company normally handles the application. Relocation costs, housing and transport should be confirmed in the offer. Island locations can be quieter and less expensive, but medical, shopping and transport services may be limited.
