Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly connected island city-state with opportunities in hotels, tourism, aviation, retail, finance, technology, healthcare and logistics. Hospitality roles are concentrated around Orchard Road, Marina Bay, Sentosa, Changi and major convention districts. The culture is multicultural, orderly and generally English-friendly, with Chinese, Malay, Indian and international influences reflected in festivals, food and daily life. Public transport is efficient, while housing, dining and childcare can be expensive. Popular activities include exploring hawker centres, parks, museums, beaches and nearby islands. Foreign applicants normally need an employer-sponsored work pass; eligibility depends on qualifications, salary and Ministry of Manpower requirements. Employers usually arrange or support the application after offering a position. Relocating workers should budget for rent, deposits, transport and healthcare, verify contract benefits, and confirm whether accommodation, meals, uniforms or relocation assistance are provided.
