Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, including Dubai and Abu Dhabi, with extensive coastlines and several resort islands. Hospitality, tourism, aviation, retail, finance, technology, construction and healthcare provide strong employment opportunities, especially for experienced international professionals. UAE culture blends Emirati traditions with a highly international lifestyle; respect for religion, local customs and modest public behavior is important. Life can be modern and active, with beaches, shopping, dining, desert excursions and excellent transport, although summers are extremely hot and accommodation costs can be high. Most overseas employees require employer-sponsored residence and work visas. Employers generally arrange the work permit, medical testing, Emirates ID and residency process after hiring. Candidates should verify salary, housing, insurance, flights, probation terms and relocation support before accepting an offer.
