Destination Guide

Singapore is a modern island city-state with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, food and beverage, aviation, finance, technology, and healthcare. Its culture is highly multicultural, combining Chinese, Malay, Indian, and international influences, with English widely used at work. The lifestyle is safe, convenient, and fast-paced, supported by excellent public transport, reliable services, shopping, nightlife, and diverse dining. Housing can be expensive, especially near central areas, so many employees share accommodation or live outside the city centre. Foreign employees generally need an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an Employment Pass, S Pass, or Work Permit, depending on qualifications, salary, and occupation. Employers usually guide successful candidates through the application process. New arrivals should budget for rent, transport, deposits, medical coverage, and daily expenses before relocating.
