Destination Guide

The Philippines offers hospitality opportunities in resorts and hotels across Luzon, Cebu, Boracay, Palawan, Bohol and other popular destinations. Pastry chefs may find work in luxury resorts, restaurants, bakeries, cruise-related businesses and large city hotels. Filipino culture is generally warm, family-oriented and welcoming, with English widely used in workplaces. Lifestyle varies from busy urban living in Manila and Cebu to a more relaxed beach setting on resort islands. Living costs are usually lower than in many Western countries, though accommodation in tourist areas can be expensive. Foreign nationals normally need an employer-sponsored work permit and appropriate visa before starting employment; requirements should be confirmed with the Philippine Bureau of Immigration and the employer. Relocating candidates should budget for housing, transport, health insurance and flights, and check whether staff accommodation, meals and airport transfers are included in the employment package.
