The role leads UOB Indonesia’s anti-bribery and corruption, anti-tax evasion, policy advisory and compliance training activities. Candidates are expected to have substantial experience in financial-services compliance, preferably covering ABC controls, tax-evasion risk, regulatory obligations, investigations, risk assessments and employee awareness programmes. A university degree in law, finance, business or a related discipline is normally required; professional compliance or anti-money-laundering qualifications are advantageous. Strong analytical, writing, influencing and project-management skills are essential, along with sound judgement, independence and high ethical standards.

Company Info

United Overseas Bank (UOB) is a major Singapore-headquartered bank with operations across Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and other international markets. Established in 1935, it provides personal financial services, business banking, commercial banking, institutional banking, wealth management and investment services. UOB Indonesia serves retail customers, entrepreneurs, local companies and multinational organisations through branches, digital channels and relationship teams. The bank is part of a regional group with a strong focus on responsible growth, regulatory standards, risk management and customer trust. Its employees typically work in a structured, multinational environment and collaborate with colleagues across Asia. Benefits and compensation vary by grade and local policy, but senior roles may include performance bonuses, medical coverage, retirement benefits and professional development opportunities.

Destination Guide

Indonesia offers opportunities in banking, fintech, technology, manufacturing, tourism, education and shared-service operations. Jakarta, on Java, is the main financial and corporate centre and is the most practical base for this UOB role; living costs, traffic and commuting can be demanding. Bali is popular with expatriates and offers a relaxed lifestyle, though professional banking opportunities are more limited. Java provides dense urban services and cultural attractions, while Sumatra, Sulawesi and eastern islands offer lower-density living, outdoor activities and distinct local traditions. Indonesian culture values hospitality, community, religious diversity and respectful communication; modest dress and awareness of local customs are appreciated. International hires generally need employer sponsorship and an appropriate work permit or limited-stay visa, with the company handling much of the process. Relocation planning should cover housing, healthcare, tax, schooling, insurance and transportation.
