Destination Guide

Malaysia offers varied relocation choices rather than one single island lifestyle. Kuala Lumpur and nearby Selangor provide the largest concentration of corporate, shared-services, finance, and technology jobs, including Accenture opportunities, with extensive public transport and diverse housing. Penang combines a strong electronics and services economy with a more relaxed island setting, while Langkawi is better known for tourism and hospitality work. Sabah and Sarawak offer opportunities in energy, services, tourism, and public-sector-related industries. Malaysian culture is multicultural, with Malay, Chinese, Indian, and indigenous influences; English is widely used in business, while Mandarin can be valuable in regional service roles. Living costs are generally moderate, though central Kuala Lumpur and Penang are pricier. Foreign hires normally need employer sponsorship and an Employment Pass arranged through the company before starting work. Bring certified qualifications, passport documents, and proof of experience, and research housing and healthcare before relocating.
