Destination Guide

Mauritius offers opportunities in technology services, consulting, finance, tourism, logistics, healthcare, education, and shared-service operations. English is widely used in business, while French and Mauritian Creole are common in daily life. The culture blends African, Indian, European, and Chinese influences, with a strong emphasis on family, community, food, and festivals. Lifestyle is relaxed, with beaches, hiking, water sports, and relatively short travel distances, although traffic can be heavy around Port Louis and major business areas. Living costs vary; rent and imported goods can be expensive, while local food and services are more affordable. Foreign employees normally need employer-sponsored authorization, such as an Occupation Permit or work permit, before working legally. Relocating candidates should confirm requirements with Accenture and Mauritian authorities, arrange housing and health cover, and budget for deposits, transport, and settling-in expenses.
