Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly connected island city with strong opportunities in consulting, technology, finance, logistics, healthcare, and digital commerce. English is widely used at work, and the culture blends Chinese, Malay, Indian, and international influences. The lifestyle is safe and convenient, with excellent public transport, diverse food, modern shopping areas, green spaces, and easy regional travel. Housing can be expensive, especially in central districts, although public transport makes commuting from areas such as Tampines, Queenstown, or Jurong practical. Most foreign professionals need an Employment Pass sponsored by their employer; approval depends on salary, qualifications, experience, and government criteria. Families may qualify for dependent passes. New arrivals should budget for rent, healthcare, transport, and a security deposit, and check current Ministry of Manpower requirements before relocating.
