Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly connected island with strong opportunities in consulting, technology, finance, healthcare, logistics, cybersecurity and digital transformation. English is widely used at work, and the culture is multicultural, efficient and generally formal in professional settings. Public transport is excellent, while housing, dining and entertainment range from practical to premium; living costs, especially rent, can be high. Popular areas include the city centre, Tiong Bahru, Holland Village and the East Coast. Foreign professionals usually need an employer-sponsored work pass, commonly an Employment Pass for suitably qualified managerial or professional roles; approval depends on salary, qualifications and government criteria. Relocating involves arranging housing, healthcare, banking and tax registration. Singapore offers a safe lifestyle, warm weather, excellent food and convenient regional travel, although humidity and limited space may take adjustment.
