Destination Guide

Thailand offers technology opportunities mainly in Bangkok, with additional roles in Chiang Mai, Phuket, and major industrial or business centers. SAP consultants can find work with global consultancies, systems integrators, banks, manufacturers, retailers, and multinational companies. Bangkok provides the strongest professional network, international schools, transport, and higher salaries, while Chiang Mai and Phuket offer a slower lifestyle, lower costs in some areas, and large expatriate communities. Thai culture values politeness, respect, family, and relationship-building; learning basic Thai is useful. Popular islands such as Phuket, Koh Samui, and Koh Phangan provide beaches, outdoor activities, and tourism-related work, but fewer specialist corporate roles. Foreign employees generally need a Thai employer-sponsored Non-Immigrant B visa and work permit before starting work. Employers often assist with documentation. Check current immigration rules, tax obligations, healthcare, housing, and dependent requirements before relocating.
