Destination Guide

The UAE is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi offering the largest technology job markets. Opportunities are strong in cloud computing, cybersecurity, consulting, finance, government technology, aviation and smart-city programs. The culture is multicultural and generally welcoming, although Islamic customs, modest public behavior and local laws should be respected. Lifestyle ranges from modern city living, beaches and restaurants to desert activities and family-oriented communities. Most expatriate employees enter on an employer-sponsored residence visa; the company normally arranges work authorization, medical checks and an Emirates ID. Highly skilled professionals may qualify for longer-term options such as the Golden Visa. Relocation packages vary, so candidates should confirm housing, health insurance, flights and schooling support. Living costs, especially rent in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, can be high.
